Cine 2046, is one of my latest cinematic film recipe creations to be included in my Fujifilm recipes for X-Trans IV Fujifilm cameras. Looking to get some cinematic still shots for your creative shot, travel, or sightseeing? You might be interested in this experimental film recipe.
Based on the Fujifilm Eterna film simulation, this recipe is created for a shot during the golden hour. As I’m trying not to make my custom settings look yellowish or too warm, I lightly altered the white balance shift to a less warm color.
What is Cine 2046 Film Recipe All About?
This recipe is inspired by a classic movie because of its unique warm color tone, high saturation & contrast. But there are some slight differences to this Cine 2046 recipe, as the color tone is toned down so it’s easier for SOOC shots.
It might be challenging to shoot the same as the classic hit film, I’ve shot a 2046 vintage theme before and it required underexpose for shadow and highlights using manual settings.
The film grain effect can be turned on if you need the film grain. Check out the experimental setting below.

How to Shoot?
I try to keep it simple for this Cine 2046 film recipe for outdoor shots that are suitable for travel, cityscapes and creative cinematic shots. Suggest using spot metering and manual mode when shooting using this recipe. Or for faster results, Aperture Priority all the way.
A diffusion filter can be used to achieve a matte look and cinematic effect on the highlights. I am using the Moment CineBloom diffusion filter with 20% density.

Is it Suitable For Landscapes?
Yes, the Cine 2046 is suitable for cityscapes/landscapes with portraits and cinematic creative shots. It works well for minimal shooting style on modern structures, and skyscraper buildings too.
Is It Suitable For Portrait?
Yes, it is suitable for dreamy cinematic portraits if you shoot it under the right lighting condition, especially during golden hours. You can learn how to shoot dreamy portraits using a vintage lens. This recipe works great with the backlight technique. It might look a little dull when shooting in the shade but it is all up to your creativity.
